If anyone stayed or knew people who stayed summers at Greenwood Lodge Bungalows in Thompsonville (by Jack's Corner) between 1952 and 1970 please contact me at sdagz@aol.com Steve Dagowitz
I spent my summers in Spring Glenn at my grandparents’ bungalow colony. Their name was Hulnick. The property was located on the highway to Ellenville. Across the street was the Millstein property and up the hill was Lapidus. The summers are remembered as being wonderful with trips to Buttermilk Falls, Devil’s Hole, the post office (Eckards sic) and the synagogue,. If anyone has any information about the bungalows, the Hulnicks or anything else, please email me at fmelzer@landam.com.
Wolf's Corner, a couple of miles outside of Monticello was owned by my grandparents Jacob & Dora Shapiro. The earliest & finest memories of life there, in the summers, surrounded by doting family and friends. The place was located where the Monticello Raceway now stands, and was bulldozed to make way for the project around 1960. I would love to hear from any alumni, and hope to locate some photos. Harvey Shapiro szapira@hotmail.com.
I am looking for anyone who stayed at Village View in the early 70s. Would like to hear from you. Michael Schoen mikeben89@aol.com. My name is Debbie Blackman. My sister Bonnie and I went to Adlers in Swan Lake during the mid to late 60s. We also went to Dee's Bungalows in Harris during the early 70s. SGS in Swan Lake was the last bungalow colony we stayed at up to the mid 70s. Does anyone remember any of these places and remember us? dirtywaterlady@aol.com
My family spent the summers of 1967 thru 1973 at KGS. I would welcome hearing from old friends. Steve Solomon stephen.solomon@oig.hhs.gov
I have fond memories of spending summers at my grandparents' hotel at Lake Kiamesha -- Kiamesha Inn. Does anyone else remember the hotel or the Turkel family (Anna Heiden Turkel and Bernard Turkel)? I also remember that my grandmother, Anna Heiden Turkel was a friend of Jennie Grossinger. ssutker1@tampabay.rr.com
I am looking for anyone who stayed at Village View Bungalow Colony in Monticello from 1962-1964. Jeff Zamek fixpots@aol.com
Does anyone remember Baumwolls in Spring Glen? My family summered there from 1964-1969. The owners were Sam & Essie Baumwoll. It later became Ten-Rus, a co-op owned by many of the families who I remember so fondly from those years. I would love to connect with any of those wonderful people. Peggy Edelman pedelman@hcdpbc.org
My family went to Fritchies early to late 50s. Anyone remember the place? Larry Ackner valleywoodsrx@gmail.com

I am doing some genealogical research and the Weinstein's were part of my family. Any information would be helpful. Erin DiManno edimanno@us.ibm.com
Looking for old friends from Highland Park Bungalow Colony. I was there from '62-'72 athe Commodore Bungalow near the pool. Still keep in touch w/ people from those days. Thanks Jeff Pollack ewingtvfan@aol.com posted 9/8/07
Does anyone know what town it was in? . It had a small lake in the back and they had a small motor boat and they would take people water skiing. There was a main house and a club house on the hill just east of the main house where the pool was located. Like most places it had a base ball field, shuffle board court, and volleyball. The dining room was in the main house. I'm not sure if it had other units. I went there when I was about about 12 in 1963. My father passed away a couple of years later and then my mother in 1969. I took my family back to the Catskills a couple of times when my girls were young to Wolff's and they too have terrific memories of the Catskills. I drove around one day trying to find something that looked familiar. But never found the place. I think I'll be back next summer for a long weekend with two of my grandchildren. If you can steer me in the right direction, I would appreciate any help in locating what once was Maplewood on the Lake. Thank you, Joe Lucas joe11772@yahoo.com.
I was there in 1938 with my family. Anyone else? Leo Rettig Jolee43125@aol.com

I'm looking for anyone that may have stayed at The Capitol Inn in Monticello. My name is Allan Evenas and during the summers between 1967 and 1971, I would stay with my Grandparents Chana and Avrum Lederman in one of the the little bungalows. It was a wonderful time full of fun and I have lots of great memories of swimming, fishing, playing baseball, hiking in the woods looking for "slide rock", picking wild berries, the Chow Chow cup truck, going to Hoffman's store across the street and walking around Cimarron City,(an old abandoned western town ) across the highway with 3 small lakes. I don't know what happened to that wonderful place but if you have any memories to share, please contact me at allan@evenasdesign.com. Allan Evenas
For 15 years, from 1959 to 1974, my family spent 3 months a year in the "country" at Highland Park Bungalow Colony, first owned by Hymie and Anna Goldstein. I could say that, with hindsight, those summers were the highlight of my youth, but even during those years, we all knew that the best of times awaited us at Highland Park, even as the world evolved from 1950s innocence to Woodstock and Watergate. Does anyone else remember Highland Park? Day camp, afternoon mello-ice cream rolls, Tuesday afternoon meetings of the wives, Friday night cartoons; movies; Saturday nights for parents at the Social Hall/Casino and, for the kids who freely climbed through the woods, Cliff Rock, Look Out Point, The Spring, Bagelhead Tunnel, Daddy-O and Blueberry Path? If anyone cares to reminisce, please email me at mjaiven@hvc.rr.com
My family had a place called The Queen Mountain House in Ferndale during the teens and early twenties of the last century. I'm looking for any evidence of their tenure there such as photos, deeds accounts. Some of the owners children went on to success in the entertainment business. They are Shep and Freddy Fields, though their names were originally Feldman. Thank you. Rick Feldman.
I am looking for anyone who may have been at from 1966 – 1973. Our family spent our summers there and we all have the most amazing memories. If anyone remembers Scott, Roslyn or Robin Dubinsky, let us know. Roslyn Lewin (Dubinsky) .
Looking for any information regarding Newman S.Pine family homestead which was located in the late 1800s on the shores of Kiamesha Lake. I am wondering if the building of the Concord Hotel took the farm land. When was the Concord built? What was there before that time? Thanks Tina Pabst stonecroft@citlink.net.
My parents, Louis and Muriel Norinsky, bought a small combination rooming house (known in Yiddish as a" kuchalein" (cook yourself) and bungalow colony in Livingston Manor. It was called the Starlight Inn. They bought it in 1937 from the Fallick family. It was located about 2 miles north of the town on Beaverkill Road off old Rt.17. It was about 1 mile before the Edgewood Inn Hotel. We spent every summer there and some years we spent the full year, if plumbing work was scarce for my father back in Brooklyn. He added on a few bungalows that he built himself. The summers were long because we had to arrive in April to get the place ready for vacationers and had to close up in early Sept. I often went to the Livingston Manor Central School. My memories of the town include the Central pharmacy, Meyerson's Bakery, Resnick's Butcher store, Nelson's fruits and vegetables, Levine's Notions, Simon's shoe store, Kahn's food store, the Manor movie house, and Schwartz's Auto. We were also friendly with Joe(?) Kleinman of Kleinman's resort on Rt. 17 beteween Livingston Manor and Roscoe. We sold the place in 1948. We then spent a summer in Harris and a summer in Wurtsboro. I then worked a summer as a bellhop/busboy at the Mansion house in Livingston Manor in 1951. If any one has any memories of any of this please e-mail me at tucstan@comcast.net.
I am hoping to hear from anyone who spent their summers in bungalow colonies on Big Woods Road or nearby in Harris,. My grandparents built Malloff's Bungalow Colony and I spent my summers there from 1953-1960. Like almost everyone, these were the best years of my life. The colony's names were: Levine's, Greenspan, Fagan's, Brozen and Crew;Fisher's Corner, Taretzski's. Sylvia OhioDove@aol.com
Hi, I spent a good part of my childhood at Fensters in Monticello. It was located on the Anawana Lake Road and was owned and operated by my mom's cousins in -laws. I always had my cousins to play with, and have very fond memories of these summers. Next door to us was Lorbers Bungalow Colony --also family owned. We paid rent to use their swimming pool every summer. I would like to hear from those that stayed by Fensters or Lorbers. Sue Dunaisky (nee Kooperman) metsroc715@aol.com.
I was born in 1946 and the first time I remember going to "the country", I was about 4 and a half. They were the best summers of anyone's life. G & G was a magical place, with lots of kids and places to explore without adult supervision and intervention. Every day was a play date. There was a small "grocery store" on the premises, and once a week the one car went into Ellenville and two women did the shopping for the entire community. We had ice boxes, the casino and card games on the lawn. We learned about huckleberries, the birthing of cows, bats, priming pumps. And first kisses. The website has brought back some powerful memories. Does anyone specifically recall G & G? Rhoda Sakolsky RaisaBayla@comcast.net.
I wonder if anyone remembers Dee's Bungalow Colony in Harris right off old 17. I can't seem to find anybody who remembers the place. I stayed there in the summers of 1970, 71, & 72. My Parents went back to visit in 1973 and it was still Dee's. Now I think it's owned by different people. I remember going to Ferndale to roller skate, Monticello for the movies and shopping, and Liberty for Sullivan's Dept Sore and the Triangle Diner. Thanks, Phil Greis vadras@si.rr.com.
I spent the summers of 1946 to 1953 at a bungalow colony near Grossingers Airport called Gerber's Farm. I would love to hear from anyone who stayed at Gerber's Farm for those summers. Barbara Friedman Siegel oceans@cox.net
Anyone remember travelling up the Kentucky Club Road, out of Woodridge about a mile to the crest of the hill where the Claremore Country Club, and the "huckleberries" of the Bluebird Colony lay? Just before them, was Mrs. Masher's Bungalows, where I, my mother, Kitty, and my sister, Marilyn stayed, and Max Seidlick's Royal Bungalow Colony opposite, where I was a lifeguard for a few years. Beyond them lay the Olympic Hotel, South Fallsburg, and Monticello. My name is Harvey Freilich, and I'd love to hear from some of you who were residents at either one. The years were 1940 to 1960, when all the magic existed ninety miles from New York City for three very special months out of the year. Harvey Freilich hrv212@bellsouth.net.
It feels strange to write now. I am 47 years old and live in Southern California. The happiest days of my childhood occurred each summer at Levine's Bungalow Colony in Harris from 1960-1968. I was 2 to 10 years old at the time. It was another world and a world full of memories that I wish to reclaim. I would love to hear of any information, remembrances, shared experiences, etc. Cory Schwartz coryschw@earthlink.net
A couple of years ago, many of us who went to Goodmans Bungalow Colony in Woodridge( in the 1970's and 1980's) were able to get in touch with each other after many years through websites & word of mouth. We even had a reunion at TGIFridays in Times Square NY in 2004...I would love to hear from everyone again & also from those who were MIA. Let's try to get together again as it was a wonderful & extrordinarily memorable experience. I want to thank Scott Sternberg for arranging the 1st reunion & making it all possible!!! Shari Forman Chic2Geek@aol.com

I spent the summer at Rabbi Rosenberg's Bungalow Colony in Greenfield Park. I think it was the summer of 1950. My parents were Max and Rose Levy. My grandparents, Ida and Hymie Kramer, were with us, too. I was 9 and my little sister, Carol, was about 5. We were right across the street from the Tamarac Lodge. I had a friend there named Rita Rosen. I have pictures of my family and some of my friends there that summer, but I can't remember the names of the others. II went back recently. The place is very run down and the owners would not let me on the property to look around. If anyone was there and would like to make contact, my name is Judy Levy Horowitz and my email address is judybt@adelphia.net.

Saul Amerling (1952-1962) amerling@sdcoe.k12.ca.us I am searching for any information on a place called the L&L Bungalow Colony, a large bungalow colony that was located in Hurleyville. It is the only bungalow colony that my family ever stayed in, the year being 1956. I have visited the area many times in later years and have never found a trace of either the colony or any information about it. Can you help?? (I remember people singing "hello, hello, it's L&L bungalow, this is your favorite show" in the casino on Saturday nights before the show went on. Barbara Goldman Shernoff jeffsher@aol.com I would love to hear from anyone who went to Nob Hill Bungalow Colony. I spent all the summers of my youth there (from birth through age 21), and truly had the times of my life. Thanks, Janice Hyman-Wolpo (wolpoj@ajc.org). As a kid, my parents took me and my siter to a bungalow colony called (in 1950) Slud's Cottages, now Morris Cottages on Anawana Lake Road in Kiamesha Lake which crossed over Rt. 42 leading to the back of the Concord Hotel. There was a little red schoolhouse up the road. Those were the best years of my life, and I used to take drives up there constantly before I moved out of NY. The last time I went there in the Fall of '91, I believe it was going co-op and, incredible as it sounds, the place looked exactly as it did when I was a kid. My bungalow happened to be available to buy at the time--I wish I had bought it. Does anybody know of this place, and the status of it. Did you ever stay there? After my grade school years going to Rockland Lodge (a real dump owned by the fancier Commodore Hotel in Swan Lake) my parents switched loyalties to Klein's. It was really hote with the high schoolers in the late '50s. I went to Franklin K. Lane HS, graduating in 1960, went to Boston U and never returned to NY. I have very fond memories of cha-cha-ing by the poolside at Klein's. It was a very "Dirty Dancing" hotel with a full-time dance instructor. A demi-celeb, the late Herb Edelman, was the summer host and tummler. (He played Maude's ex-husband on TV and did a lot of supporting comedic roles).
